Having a dad with so much history as mine and a bohemian mother with a big interest for antiques, makes you quite the sucker for these things yourself. So when someone told me about Guilford, and old town not far from Perth with heaps of second-hand shops, I had to go!
Guilford is a small town, established in 1829, and lies in the centre of Swan Valley. It's basically a train station and a main street, but with all the essentials; bakery, pub, barber shop, and lots of antiques and second-hand shops.
And after walking through them all, looking slowly at every shelf with old treasures, I went for a drive out on the countryside. Drove along the River which is narrower up here, took a walk and saw the pelicans swimming in the river. Walked through the Vineyards with the trees all shifting colours. Bought some fresh grapes and could probably not have enjoyed myself more...!.

Every corner of the shop needs to be seen. This one took a while. |

Who knows what this camera has seen through the years. |

Another favourite of mine, tins to put only my finest things in.
One had to come home with me! |

I stopped the car just by the road to take this photo when a dog suddenly appeared behind me. I would guess a cross between cattle dog and border collie or something like that. Very cute til it started growling and barking at me! Quick, in the car and off I went, with a suspicious looking dog in the mirror. Good guard dog! |
